Easy Skips: Terms and Conditions

By hiring a skip from Easy Skips (“we,” “us,” or “our”), you (“the Customer”) agree to the following terms and conditions.

General Hire Terms

  • Ownership: All skips remain the property of Easy Skips at all times.
  •  Customer Responsibility: The Customer is responsible for the skip bin from the time of delivery until it is collected. This includes any loss, damage, or theft of the skip, and the Customer will be charged for any associated repair or replacement costs.
  • Permits: It is the Customer’s responsibility to obtain any necessary permits from the local council or other relevant authorities if the skip bin will be placed on public land (e.g., a road or nature strip).
  •  Risk and Liability: We will not be liable for any damage to property or injury to any person that occurs during the delivery, placement, or collection of the skip bin. It is the Customer’s responsibility to ensure that the placement area is suitable and has clear, safe access. This includes ensuring the ground can support the weight of the truck and the filled skip bin.

Skip Bin Placement and Access

  • Placement: The Customer must provide clear instructions for the placement of the skip. Our driver will use their discretion to determine the safest and most suitable location for delivery and collection.
  • Movement: Once delivered, the skip bin must not be moved from its original placement without our explicit written consent. If a skip bin is moved and becomes inaccessible for collection, the Customer will be liable for any costs associated with its recovery.
  • Access: The Customer must ensure there is clear and unobstructed access for our vehicle to deliver and collect the skip bin. If our driver is unable to deliver or collect the skip due to poor access, a “futile trip” fee may be charged.

Waste Types, Fill Levels, and Overloading

  • General Waste Skips (2m³, 3m³, 4m³, 5m³, 6m³, and 9m³): These skips are for general household and commercial waste, including paper, cardboard, plastics, clothes, furniture, and light building materials.
  • Quarry Skips (2m³, 3m³, and 4m³): These skips are specifically for heavy, inert waste such as brick, concrete, soil, and rock. No other waste types are permitted in these skips.
  • Mixed Waste Skips (2m³, 3m³, and 4m³): These skips are for a combination of general waste and quarry waste.
  • Prohibited Items: The following items are strictly prohibited in all skips and will result in additional charges or return of the prohibited item:
  • Asbestos or hazardous materials
  • Liquid waste (paint, oil, solvents, chemicals)
  • Tyres, TV’s and mattresses (unless arranged and paid for in advance)
  • Gas bottles (unless arranged and paid for in advance and left on top in full view)
  •  Batteries, or other explosive materials
  • Large amounts of food waste or putrescible waste
  • Fill Level: The skip bin must not be filled above the rim. All waste must be contained within the bin’s sides and must not protrude or hang over the top. If a skip is overloaded, our driver may refuse to collect it, or the waste may be removed from the top of the bin and left on your property. Additional charges may apply for an overfilled skip.
  •  Weight Limits: Each skip size has a weight limit (excluding quarry waste skips). If a skip bin exceeds its weight limit, the Customer will be charged an additional fee to cover the extra disposal costs.

Hire Period and Charges

  • Hire Period: The standard hire period is up to 7 days unless otherwise agreed upon.
  • Extensions: If you require the skip for a longer period, you must contact us at least 24 hours before the scheduled collection date. Extensions are subject to availability and may incur additional fees.
  • Payment: Payment is required in full before or upon delivery of the skip bin. We reserve the right to charge a credit card on file for any additional fees incurred, including for overloading, prohibited items, or futile trips.
  •  Cancellations: If you need to cancel a booking, you must provide a minimum of 24 hours notice. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours notice may incur a cancellation fee.
